The car has been coveted by just two owners in the USA , the last has been known to me for some time through contacts and is somewhat of precise cooper enthusiast , this was his pride 'never to sell' car . In the 90's Due to paint deterioration , the car was stripped and the body was walnut shell blasted to remove the original flaking paint and repainted , it was then carefully painted and reassembled.
No panels have been replaced , repaired or welded.<
The hydrolastic suspension is correct and fully functioning.
The engine and gearbox are original and matching , finished in original green ' export' ( different from uk ) colour , and still retains correct internal parts ( en40b crank, steel rods etc ) it's been rebuilt once . Currently the engine runs well, pulls strongly , good oil pressure and good water temp.
It is superb but very original ; no reproduction parts all the original items were re used after repainting, the seats had covers to protect them as did the carpets so both are extremely good original.
This could best the best in the world, I have personally have seen only one other S that can boast all original panels,
Its condition and drive deceive it's 50 th birthday next month.
